A Powerful Bible Verse About the Lord God Almighty, Our Father in Heaven
Psalm 119:142 "Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is the truth."
I believe that the Lord is holy and righteous. He is the Great I AM. When we read the Holy Bible, we are reading the truth. God provided His Word for us because he loves us and wants us to know His Law. There is nothing more powerful than the Word of God. The Word is God.
According to John 1:1-5 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
For our sake, the Word miraculously became flesh when Jesus was born. According to John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." God sent us His only Son Jesus Christ, who would become a living sacrifice for your sins and mine. We have all fallen short of the righteousness set forth in God's ten commandments and throughout His Word. Our sinfulness is unrighteousness and unacceptable to our Holy God. Unholiness cannot enter into God's presence. That's why Jesus came to take away the sins of the world. Without Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross for your sinfulness and mine, we absolutely could not enter into God's presence. Thank you Jesus for providing a way to our Father in heaven for all who place their faith in you and accept your loving sacrifice! If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and desire to have your sins forgiven and washed away by His precious blood shed for you and me on the cross at Calvary (the hill near Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified), please visit the Salvation Prayer page of this website today. Our Father in Heaven is waiting for you with open arms to make that important decision. He will not make it for you. You must choose to be made acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Those who turn away from this amazing gift of salvation will be choosing to be separated from God for all eternity and cast into hell. Many souls have already made that terrible decision and are suffering in eternal punishment separated from God. The thought of it disturbs me greatly, and I hope you feel the same way. My prayer is that the Lord will give me a daily yearning to spread this truth to as many persons as possible who do not yet know the salvation message found in the Holy Bible. Tenderize my heart Jesus so that my sincere concern for every soul I meet grows and grows and never ends.
God's Word is truth. I believe that he has inspired many men through the Holy Spirit to let the Word be known in the pages of the Holy Bible. According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
With this verse, we can be certain that the Holy Bible is true. God is in control.
According to 1 Thessolonians 1:5 "...our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance..."
Because God's Word is true, it is important to study it and find out what it says about you and me. As God's children, we should ask Him daily for wisdom and understanding so that the truth may continue to be revealed to us.
Proverbs 4:5 encourages us to "Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth."
What are wisdom and understanding?
Three Bible verses tell us.
"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding." Job 28:28
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." Proverbs 9:10
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever." Proverbs 111:10
There is nothing on Earth that is more valuable to your soul than wisdom and understanding. Wisdom and understanding are better than silver and gold, and nothing we desire can compare with them.
Proverbs 3 confirms this:
13Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
19The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
21My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
I believe that as Christians, we must live according to the Word of God. We must read the Holy Bible daily or we can easily stray away from the straight and narrow path that our Lord has paved for us. It is important to seek God's will for our life and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ as much as we can. Our sole ambition must be to please the Lord and be obedient to His Laws. We must pray and spend time with the Lord so that we can hear His voice through the Holy Spirit who lives inside us. I can say that living the Christian life is a continuous learning process. People look very closely at your behavior and tend to judge you or even discount your walk with the Lord based on your imperfections. Of course, none of us are righteous, although as a Christian I am trying to live every day according to the Word of the Lord. Sometimes I feel so imperfect, and I have questions for God as to whether I have done the right thing in certain situations. Through His Holy Spirit, He always shines His light on the way that I should go, even if I have to wait on the Lord for a period of time to hear the answer. It is not always easy, but God is good! I believe that the Lord wants us to place our faith in Him and bring all of our concerns and needs to Him in prayer. Jesus tells us in Matthew11:30, "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." We must learn to let go and let Almighty God take control. With the Lord on our side, we cannot be defeated. Phillipians 4:13 provides us with this truth "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." When we go to God, we should always end our prayer by saying "in Jesus' name. Amen." Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father.
This world is not our home and we must not follow after its ways. Instead we must focus our eyes on Jesus so that we may be molded into His image to the delight of Our Father in Heaven.
God has a plan for each one of us and has provided His Holy Word in the Bible as a guide. When we read the Word and open our hearts in prayer to the Lord, we discover amazing truths and our role as Christians. We come to know how we can stand on God's mighty Word as we live out our lives for Him.
